Communication of environmental and energy performance

EMESA, committed to the protection of the environment and efficient use of energy, has been certified by AENOR according to the standards UNE-EN ISO 14001: 2015 and UNE-EN ISO 50001: 2011. The implementation of these systems has helped improve the organisation’s environmental and energy performance annually by establishing a series of improvement objectives.

Below, information on the environmental aspects generated by EMESA in the past years is presented:

ACTIONS CARRIED OUT DURING 2017

EMESA, with the aim of minimising its impact on the environment and improving its energy management, has carried out the following actions:

Planting of

• 1,140 rosemaries (Rosmarinus officinalis)
• 570 brooms (Retama sphaerocarpa)
• 570 brooms (Retama monosperm)
• 1,480 rockroses (Cistus ladanifer)

Installation of

• • Network analysers to improve the control of electricity consumption.

Purchase of

• 2 electric vehicles.

Rehabilitation of

• • The ‘Valencia’ Base, improving its waterproofing, insulation, electrical installation, lighting, air conditioning and refrigeration.

Adaptation of

• The Environmental Management System, in accordance with the new UNE-EN ISO 14001: 2015 standard.

OUR PROPOSALS TO CONTINUE REDUCING THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT IN 2018 CONSIST IN:

• Continue replacing the lighting of the facilities with LED technology.
• Study the feasibility of purchasing vehicles powered by cleaner alternative technologies.
• Improve the storage of salt through the purchase of silos.
• Renew two repair vehicles.
