This May, Emesa received several international delegations that came to visit the tunnels of the M-30 to learn from their facilities and constructive methodologies, as well as the management carried out by our company, in order to apply it to their respective projects.
On 16 May, Emesa was visited by a commission from the city of Hwasong, in South Korea, and another commission from the municipality of San Pablo Area (Brazil) which were accompanied by the Spanish company Etralux, which is part of the technological multinational Grupoetra. Both teams of professionals sought to deepen aspects related to urban mobility solutions. Sonia Suárez, Production Manager, and Mar Martínez, Emesa Tunnel Safety Manager, were in charge of receiving and accompanying both delegations in their respective journeys.
On the other hand, on Tuesday, 21 May, Emesa welcomed several representatives from Highways England’s “Lower Thames Crossing” project. The project includes the construction of the longest road tunnel in the country and one of the longest in the world. The infrastructure, which will cross the River Thames, will be 4 km long and will be executed with a tunnel boring machine, as will the tunnels of the M-30 bypass. Technicians from Highways England visited the tunnel facilities to see the different construction solutions and see first hand Emesa’s experience in maintenance, as well as lessons learned. Emesa’s Technical and Production managers, Manuel Muelas and Sonia Suárez, as well as the engineer responsible for the tunnel’s structure, Cristina Heredia, managed the visit. After the meeting, both teams agreed on the success of their meeting and set out to continue collaborating and sharing experiences and knowledge.
